Excellency,

Afrihealth Optonet Association (AHOA) is a community-focused CSOs network/think-tank of about 1000 organizations in the global South for the promotion of Development Work, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Health - a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being; using partnership/collaboration, advocacy, research/evidence-generation, capacity development, outreaches, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) as strategies; for the major benefits of rural and poor urban dwellers, marginalized, vulnerable and disadvantaged populations of women, children, adolescents, disabled, orphans and elderly; while exploring the nexus between Health - PHC, HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, NCDs, Vaccines and COVID-19; Energy and Environment - renewable energy, ecosystems, biodiversity, energy efficiency and climate change (REEBEECC); Nutrition including micronutirents and Food Security; Gender, Democracy, Good Governance and Human Rights. AHOA has Consultative Status at United Nations ECOSOC.

AHOA and its partners are engaged in taking actions and speaking out about Malaria; worried about the persisting dangerous consequences of its continuous endemicity, morbidities and mortalities especially in Africa where 95% of global malaria cases and 96% of global malaria deaths occurred in 2020 of which 31.9% of the deaths occurred in Nigeria alone[1]; the efforts towards malaria elimination/eradication; and why this MUST be everyone's business at all times, in all environments/places and at all levels until eradication is achieved.
